Jun 21, 2014 10:54 AM

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced plans to play two regular season games in Europe at the start of the 2008-09 season on Saturday, but the NHLPA claims that they weren't informed of the final details before the announcement, ESPN.com has reported. The games could be postponed if the union doesn't support them Paul Kelly, the new head of the players' union, told a handful of reporters Saturday afternoon. "Is there a possibility that we may say this isn't good enough, and it undermines those events? Yes, there's a possibility. We're not going to just be a rubber stamp," Kelly told ESPN. "Once we're presented with details for these events we'll study them carefully; we'll talk to the players. If the players approve, then there'll be no problem. But it won't be a mere formality."
